Located in Northern California, near the border of Nevada, 22 miles south of Coleville, and 21 miles northwest of Bridgeport, the Coleville/Bridgeport (MWTC) occupies 46,000 acres of the Toiyabe National Forest – the largest forest in the United States outside of Alaska. The area is filled with abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation such as fishing, horseback riding, hunting, off-roading, camping, hiking, and backpacking.

Fish, Hike & Ski in Northern California

The city of Coleville is located on Highway 395, offering access to a variety of hot springs, gambling just over the border in Nevada, and great skiing at Lake Tahoe, about 52 miles to the north. Bridgeport is your gateway to great skiing at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, just 54 miles to the south.

Other points of interest in the area include Mono Lake, Bodie State Historic Park and its ghost town, and Yosemite National Park – one of America’s most renowned parks and home of the giant sequoias. Annual temperatures range from above 90 degrees in the summer to below 20 in the winter, with snow from October to April.
