On-Base Housing at El Centro (NAF)

The multicultural community of El Centro is rich in agricultural history and is the core of the Imperial Valley's retail district. Located in the southernmost part of California, El Centro is 128 miles east of San Diego, 60 miles west of Yuma, Arizona, and only 10 miles north of Mexicali, Mexico.

Liberty Military Housing offers 101 homes within two communities serving the Naval Air Facility at El Centro. Our experienced team is here to help make the process of finding and renting your home as easy as possible. There are no out-of-pocket expenses when you live in an LMH home, and average utility costs are included in your monthly rent. We don’t run credit checks and there's no hidden fees. At Liberty Military Housing, you have everything you need to make your new house a home, including a vibrant community and access to 24/7 maintenance services.

Life in the Imperial Valley

The area surrounding El Centro is peppered with desert and wilderness parks, areas for off-roading, boating, camping, golfing, and the enjoyment of year-round hot springs. Both El Centro (NAF) and Liberty Military Housing provide a variety of recreational opportunities for military families, including pools, bowling alleys, gyms, and other on-base facilities. Nearby attractions include numerous parks, the World Commemorative Center, the Desert View Tower in Jacumba, and the Rio Bend Golf Resort.

In addition, El Centro is within an easy drive to Big Bear, Palm Springs, and San Diego, offering many excursions and activities for individuals and families. Nearby, the Salton Sea is a major site and resting stop on the Pacific Flyway. Currently threatened by run-off, and with conservation plans underway, it supports 30 percent of the remaining population of the American White Pelican and other Pacific birds.

Situated almost entirely below sea level, the valley itself consists of relatively flat desert terrain. The weather is very hot during summer, with temperatures in the 100s, and cool during winter, with temperatures in the 50s.
