The attacks on the Twin Towers in New York City, the Pentagon, and United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11th, 2001.

Not only did this event forever change the world, it had a direct and immediate impact on military families. They faced new and unique challenges with increased deployments and extended tours, such as family separation, financial difficulties, and losing loved ones.

Liberty Military Housing started operations in August of 2001; 41 days later, the world changed forever. This fundamentally changed how we operated. Liberty started the journey as a property management company and quickly understood the importance of not just managing homes but building communities and a support network military families could rely on.

We honor the lives tragically lost and the heroic first responders who selflessly rushed toward danger on September 11th. This day reminds us of our nation's resilience and the importance of unity in the face of adversity. At Liberty, our enduring mission has always been to serve and positively impact the quality of life, military readiness, and retention of our brave men and women defending our freedoms and who run toward the front line.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all United States Military Veterans, Active Duty Service Members, and the dedicated family members who steadfastly support them.

Below is a video and clips from a letter Admiral Vern Clark, Chief Naval Operations, sent to those who supported the U.S. Navy, including Liberty, after 9/11/2001.

Message from Chief Naval Operations post 9/11/01:

U.S. Navy Ships have deployed… their families have met the challenges of being at war head on. I commend all of you for your …excellent support to our Sailors and Marines. Well done!

Keep a sharp eye on readiness indicators… to sustain our warfighting edge. We are in this fight for the long haul and must plan accordingly.

I ask you to take these thoughts and talk with your people. Explain how our team has contributed in a very meaningful way to the defense of our great nation and how appreciative our fellow citizens are for their sacrifices.

Emphasize the importance of service and dedication to causes bigger than ourselves. Ensure your people fully comprehend the challenges that lie ahead and the importance of preparing themselves and their families to meet these challenges.
